Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup: Upon first boot, follow the on-screen prompts to set up Windows 11 Home. This includes connecting to a Wi-Fi network, signing in with or creating a Microsoft account, and configuring privacy settings. Pre-installed software like HP Support Assistant can help manage updates and system checks.
Compatibility: The laptop comes with Windows 11 Home pre-installed, ensuring compatibility with most modern software and peripherals. It features USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port for connecting external devices, as well as an HDMI 1.4b port for external displays. A combo headphone/mic port is also included.
Care:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and exterior. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Health: Utilize HP's battery management software (if available through HP Support Assistant) to optimize battery life. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Dust: Regularly check and gently clean vents to prevent dust buildup, which can affect cooling performance.
- Software Updates: Keep Windows and HP drivers updated through Windows Update and HP Support Assistant for optimal performance and security.
