Your HP 14" Laptop comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Home. Upon first boot, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup, which includes connecting to a Wi-Fi network, signing in with or creating a Microsoft account, and configuring basic settings. You may also be prompted to set up Windows Hello (if available via fingerprint or facial recognition on other models) and install optional trial software.
Compatibility:
This laptop features standard USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C® port (supporting 5Gbps signaling data rate), an HDMI 1.4b port for external displays, and a combo headphone/mic port. It is compatible with a wide range of USB peripherals, external hard drives, and monitors that use HDMI. Ensure that any software you intend to use is compatible with Windows 11.
Care:
To maintain your laptop's performance and longevity:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For the exterior and keyboard, use a slightly damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner if necessary. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
- Ventilation: Ensure the laptop's vents are not blocked during use to prevent overheating. Avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or blankets for extended periods.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid constant full discharge. Utilize HP Fast Charge when needed, but consider adjusting power settings for optimal battery health during regular use.
- Software Updates: Regularly install Windows updates and HP software updates via HP Support Assistant to ensure optimal performance and security.
