Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The North Face Antora Jacket requires no complex setup. Simply unpack it and it's ready to wear. Adjust the hood and hem drawcords for a personalized and secure fit.
Compatibility
- Layering: This jacket is designed as a shell, making it highly compatible with various mid-layers (fleece, insulated jackets) for added warmth in colder conditions.
- Activities: Suitable for a wide range of activities including daily commuting, light hiking, dog walking, urban exploration, and casual outdoor use.
- Accessories: Pairs well with hats, gloves, and scarves for full weather protection.
Care Instructions
Proper care helps maintain the jacket's performance and longevity.
- Preparation: Close all zippers and hook-and-loop fasteners before washing.
- Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent specifically designed for waterproof outerwear (avoid fabric softeners, bleach, and harsh detergents).
- Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly to ensure all detergent is removed.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting, or hang dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. High heat can damage the waterproof membrane.
- DWR Re-application: Over time, the non-PFC DWR finish may wear off. If water no longer beads up on the fabric surface, you may need to re-apply a DWR treatment (spray-on or wash-in product) specifically for waterproof/breathable garments to restore water repellency.
- Ironing & Dry Cleaning: Do not iron or dry clean the jacket, as this can damage the fabric and DWR treatment.
