While the SALOMON XT-6 features durable and abrasion-resistant materials, its lightweight mesh upper is designed for breathability and is not fully waterproof. It will offer some protection against light splashes, but for heavy rain or deep puddles, water may penetrate.
Gently clean your XT-6 shoes with lukewarm water and a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt. Do not use harsh detergents, machine wash, or tumble dry. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
The Quicklace™ system is a minimalist and strong lace for one-pull tightening. This design allows for easy on and off, and quick adjustments, ensuring a secure and consistent fit with a simple pull and lock mechanism.
The SALOMON XT-6 is primarily designed for high-performance trail running and hiking, offering specialized support and traction for challenging terrains. While they can be worn for casual walking, their robust and technical design might be over-engineered for daily urban use.
These shoes excel on a wide variety of trail terrains, including technical paths, rocky trails, loose gravel, and especially muddy or soft ground, thanks to the Mud Contagrip® outsole and Agile Chassis System.
The SensiFit™ system cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug, and virtually customized fit all around the foot. This enhances stability and comfort, especially during dynamic movements on uneven surfaces.
Lift the Quicklace stopper, adjust the cord tension to your desired comfort, and then push the stopper back down firmly. Ensure the excess lace is tucked into the lace pocket.
Check the Mud Contagrip® outsole for accumulated mud or debris. Clean the lugs thoroughly with water and a brush to restore optimal traction. Ensure the shoe is dry before your next use.
Re-evaluate your lacing tension; sometimes an uneven or overly tight lace can cause discomfort. Also, ensure you are wearing appropriate moisture-wicking athletic socks. Give the shoes a proper break-in period if they are new, as materials may need to conform to your foot.
A squeak can sometimes come from the insole rubbing against the bottom of the shoe. Remove the OrthoLite® insole, sprinkle a small amount of baby powder or cornstarch inside the shoe (under where the insole sits), then reinsert the insole. If the squeak persists, check if the tongue is properly seated.
