Fjällräven Kånken Backpack - Orange

The Kånken backpack is made from Vinylon F fabric, which is highly water-resistant and swells when wet to repel moisture, but it is not fully waterproof. In heavy rain, water can eventually seep through seams or zippers. For complete protection in downpours, a rain cover is recommended.

The PE foam seat cushion serves two primary purposes: it provides comfortable padding when you sit down on cold or hard surfaces during breaks, and when placed in its designated pocket inside the main compartment, it acts as a back panel, adding structure and comfort to the backpack.

While this classic Kånken model does not have a dedicated padded laptop sleeve, its main compartment can typically accommodate smaller laptops (e.g., 13-inch or smaller) if placed carefully, preferably within a separate protective sleeve. For dedicated laptop protection, Fjällräven offers specific Kånken Laptop 13" and 15" models with padded compartments.

To clean your Kånken, use a soft brush or sponge with lukewarm water and a mild, non-detergent soap if necessary. Gently scrub the dirty areas. Avoid machine washing, tumble drying, bleaching, or ironing, as these can damage the fabric and structure. Air dry completely away from direct sunlight.

Vinylon F is a synthetic fiber developed by Fjällräven, known for its exceptional durability and resistance to dirt and moisture. Unlike many synthetic materials, it behaves similarly to natural fibers: when it gets wet, its fibers swell, making the fabric denser and more resistant to water penetration without the need for a coating.

The shoulder straps of the Kånken backpack can be adjusted using the plastic sliders located at the bottom of each strap. Pull the strap through the slider to tighten or loosen it until the backpack sits comfortably on your back, with the weight evenly distributed.

Ensure both shoulder straps are adjusted to equal lengths. Adjust the sliders on the straps to achieve a snug but comfortable fit that distributes weight evenly across your shoulders. Avoid overpacking, which can cause strain.

Wipe the affected area with a soft brush or sponge and lukewarm water. For stubborn stains, a small amount of mild soap can be used, but always rinse thoroughly. Allow to air dry completely.

Rub a small amount of zipper lubricant (like zipper wax or a graphite pencil) along the teeth of the zipper. Gently work the zipper back and forth to distribute the lubricant. Avoid forcing a stuck zipper.

Re-evaluate the contents of your backpack. Remove unnecessary items to reduce weight. Distribute heavier items closer to your back and center to maintain balance. Ensure shoulder straps are properly adjusted.
