The HOKA Mafate X in Zest/Mountain Fog updates the very first HOKA shoe, the Mafate, transforming it from a cushioned daily trail shoe into a plush ultra-distance race shoe with carbon plate speed. The all-important grip in the HOKA Mafate X is created by zonal Vibram Megagrip and 3.5mm lugs, providing excellent traction across gravel and hard technical surfaces. The midsole features a dual-density cushioning system with PEBA foam on the top layer and a super-critical formed EVA carrier foam below. Including a forked carbon plate delivers deep, propulsive cushioning designed to ease the burden of long miles on the trail. A smooth-curving forefoot Metarocker aids stride transition, and a rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame cradles your foot for improved comfort, fit, and control. The quick-draining, ultralight woven upper incorporates a dynamic vamp, gusseted tongue, protective toe cap, moulded TPU heel counter, and reflective details for comfort, fit, durability, and visibility. Key features include a Vibram Megagrip zonal outsole with 3.5mm lugs, a smooth Metarocker, a rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame, a forked carbon fibre plate, a PEBA core with super-critical EVA carrier, a woven textile upper for easy drainage, a dynamic vamp and gusseted tongue, and a protective toe cap, moulded TPU heel counter, and reflective details.
