Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
- Unbox your HP EliteBook 840 G10 and connect the included 65W AC adapter.
- Press the power button to turn on the laptop.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to set up Windows 11 Pro, including connecting to a Wi-Fi network and creating or logging into your Microsoft account.
- Install any available Windows updates and driver updates through Windows Update or the HP Support Assistant.
Compatibility:
The laptop comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed, ensuring compatibility with a vast range of business software and peripherals. It features two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 port, allowing for easy connection to external displays, docking stations, and other accessories. Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E ensure broad compatibility with wireless devices and networks.
Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Gently clean the screen, keyboard, and chassis with a soft, lint-free cloth. For tougher marks, use a slightly damp cloth or approved electronics cleaner. Utilize the HP Easy Clean app to temporarily disable the keyboard and touchscreen for safe sanitization.
- Battery: To optimize battery life, adjust power settings in Windows and utilize HP Power Manager. Avoid exposing the laptop to extreme temperatures.
- Storage: Keep the laptop in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Ensure the vents are clear of dust and debris.
