Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Break-in
When you first receive your Nike Mercurial Superfly 10 Academy AG boots, we recommend a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions or casual walks to allow the NIKESKIN upper to adapt to your foot's unique shape. This helps prevent discomfort during your first full match.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Artificial Ground (AG) surfaces. The soleplate and stud configuration are optimized for the consistency and demands of artificial turf pitches. While they may technically be used on other surfaces, their performance and durability are best ensured on AG. Using them on natural grass (FG) or firm ground (FG) might reduce grip and increase wear.
Proper Care & Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your boots:
- Cleaning after use: After every match or training session, wipe off dirt and debris using a damp cloth. For stubborn mud, a soft brush can be used carefully.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not use strong detergents, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the NIKESKIN material and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause the material to crack or deform.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from extreme temperatures. Using shoe trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape.
- Insole care: Remove and air out the cushioned insoles periodically to prevent odor and moisture buildup. They can be hand-washed with mild soap if needed.
- Stud inspection: Regularly check the studs for any signs of wear, damage, or looseness. While AG studs are durable, proper maintenance prolongs their life.
