Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
- Power on the MacBook Air by pressing the power button.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, region, and connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- Sign in with your Apple ID or create a new one.
- Migrate data from a previous Mac or Windows PC, or set up as a new Mac.
Compatibility:
This MacBook Air runs macOS and is compatible with a vast range of applications available on the Mac App Store and from third-party developers. For hardware compatibility, it features Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports which support charging, DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt 3 (up to 40Gb/s) and USB 4 (up to 40Gb/s). Ensure any accessories you connect are compatible with these standards.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water to clean the exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. For the screen, use a specialized screen cleaner. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Although fanless, ensure the vents are not blocked to maintain optimal operating temperature, especially during intensive tasks.
- Battery Health: To maximize battery lifespan, avoid extreme temperatures and consider optimizing battery charging settings in macOS.
