Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
Your adidas Originals Gazelle Bold shoes are ready to wear right out of the box. Simply untie, slip on, and adjust the laces for a comfortable fit. A brief break-in period may be beneficial to allow the suede to conform to your foot's shape, though the material is generally soft from the start.
Compatibility
- Wardrobe: Highly versatile, these shoes complement casual attire like jeans, chinos, shorts, and athleisure wear. They can also add a stylish edge to casual dresses or skirts.
- Environments: Ideal for urban settings, light outdoor use in dry conditions, and social events. Not recommended for heavy-duty work, intense sports, or harsh weather.
Care
Suede requires specific attention to maintain its appearance and longevity.
- Pre-Treatment: Before the first wear, apply a high-quality suede and nubuck protector spray. This creates a barrier against water and stains. Reapply periodically as per the product instructions.
- Regular Cleaning: Use a suede brush to gently remove loose dirt and dust. Brush in one direction to maintain the nap. For scuffs or matted areas, gently rub with a suede eraser.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, use a suede eraser to gently rub the affected area. For liquid spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Once dry, use a suede brush. For tougher stains, a specialized suede cleaner should be used, following the product's instructions carefully and testing on an inconspicuous area first.
- Drying: If your shoes get wet, stuff them with paper (like newspaper) to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or sunlight), which can damage the suede.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Consider using shoe trees or tissue paper inside to help maintain their shape when not in use. Avoid storing them in plastic bags as suede needs to breathe.
- Avoid Water: Suede is highly susceptible to water damage and staining. Avoid wearing your Gazelle Bold shoes in heavy rain, snow, or muddy conditions.
