Setup, Compatibility & Care
First-Time Setup
- Lacing: Unlace the boots completely. Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated against the back of the boot.
- Adjusting Laces: Start from the bottom eyelets and pull the laces firmly but not too tightly, working your way up. Ensure even tension across the foot.
- Knotting: Use a secure knot (e.g., a double knot) to prevent laces from coming undone during activity. Ensure laces are not excessively long to avoid tripping hazards.
Sizing and Compatibility
These Timberland Greyfield Boots are designed for adults with a regular shoe width and are available in UK Size 3.
- Fit: Expect a snug but comfortable fit. Allow enough room for your toes to wiggle slightly.
- Socks: Consider the thickness of socks you typically wear when trying on boots. For hiking, thicker socks may be preferred.
- Break-in Period: Like most durable footwear, a short break-in period may be required for the boots to fully mold to your feet.
Care and Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and performance of your Timberland Greyfield Boots:
- Cleaning Nubuck: Use a specialized nubuck brush to remove loose dirt and dust. For tougher stains, use a dedicated nubuck cleaner, following product instructions carefully. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water.
- Water Resistance: While treated with Defender Repellent Systems, periodic reapplication of a suitable water and stain protector for nubuck/suede is recommended, especially after heavy use or cleaning, to maintain water resistance.
- Drying: If boots get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as these can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using boot trees to help maintain their shape.
- Laces: Inspect laces periodically for wear and tear. Replace them if they become frayed or damaged.
