Sikaflex®-552 is a high-performance elastic gap-filling 1-component Silane Terminated Polymer (STP). It is suitable for bonding various materials and in many cases adheres with limited surface preparation. Sikaflex®-552 is suitable for joints that will be subjected to dynamic stresses. Suitable substrate materials are metals, particularly aluminium (including anodised components), sheet steel (including phosphated, chromated and zinc-plated components), ceramic materials and plastics. Seek manufacturer's advice and perform tests on original substrates before using Sikaflex®-552 on materials prone to stress cracking. It is a hybrid formulation with a 1-C silane-terminated hybrid polymer technology formula that creates an elastic, high-performance gap-filling assembly adhesive. This adhesive bonds well to most substrates with little or no priming required. It cures in ambient temperatures at a rate of 2mm per 24 hours to a weather-resistant finish unaffected by UV rays and ageing. The adhesive can be used on metals, sheet steels, ceramic materials and plastics for long-lasting bonds that can withstand high dynamic stress. It is easy to apply using a standard piston-type cartridge gun for clean, precision lines and seals that form a skin in just 40 minutes. It is solvent-free, low-odour and over-paintable for a custom finish. Available in white and black.
