Setup
Setting up your Mac Mini is straightforward:
- Connect Peripherals: Connect your chosen display to the Mac Mini using an HDMI cable or a Thunderbolt-to-display adapter. Plug in your USB keyboard and mouse into the available USB 3 ports.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the Mac Mini and then to a wall outlet.
- Power On: Press the power button on the back of the Mac Mini. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial macOS setup, including Wi-Fi connection and Apple ID login.
Compatibility
- Displays: Supports up to two displays at 2560 by 1600 pixels via HDMI and Thunderbolt 2 ports.
- Peripherals: Compatible with a wide range of USB keyboards, mice, printers, and external storage devices. Thunderbolt 2 ports offer high-speed connectivity for advanced peripherals.
- Operating System: Originally ships with OS X Yosemite. You can check for and install newer compatible macOS versions via the App Store for security updates and new features.
Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water to clean the exterior. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh cleaning agents. Do not spray cleaners directly onto the device.
- Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating. Keep the Mac Mini on a flat, stable surface with adequate airflow.
- Storage: Store the Mac Mini in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
