Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the workstation from its packaging. Ensure all accessories, including the keyboard and mouse, are present.
- Connections: Connect the monitor to the NVIDIA RTX A2000 graphics card using the DisplayPort outputs. Connect the keyboard and mouse to available USB ports. Plug the power cable into the 1000 W power supply.
- Power On: Press the power button to boot the system. The initial boot process may take a few minutes as the system initializes.
- Operating System Setup: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Windows 11 Pro setup, including user account creation and network configuration.
Compatibility:
The ThinkStation P620 is ISV-certified for a wide range of professional software, including:
- CAD/CAM: Autodesk AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA
- 3D Modeling & Rendering: Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D
- Scientific & Engineering: ANSYS, MATLAB, COMSOL Multiphysics
- Media & Entertainment: Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, DaVinci Resolve
Care:
- Ventilation: Ensure the workstation has adequate airflow. Do not block the air intake or exhaust vents. Maintain a clear space around the tower.
- Cleaning: Power off and unplug the system before cleaning. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to wipe down the exterior. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners. For internal dust, use compressed air to gently blow dust out of fans and vents periodically.
- Software Updates: Regularly update Windows and all installed drivers, especially graphics drivers, for optimal performance and security.
- Thermal Management: Monitor system temperatures using included software utilities during heavy workloads. If temperatures consistently exceed safe operating levels, consult troubleshooting steps.
