Thought up by designer Yue Wu, New Balance's 'Protection Pack' subrange is a masterclass in deconstruction. The upper on the 2002R features a mesh underlay while 'Sea Salt' and 'NB White' suede offer up vintage colourisation. Impact-absorbing midsoles house ABZORB cushioning technology whereas N-ergy outsoles feature Stability Web arch support and hits of retro accenting signal Boston heritage. This model is a nod to 2010 NB styling, taking design cues from running silhouettes of the 2000s era. It features a pulled-back uniform with a 'Sea Salt' and 'Nb White' colourway. Breathable mesh is layered with rough-cut suede panelling for a deconstructed effect, while underfoot, ABZORB and N-ergy technology offer unrivalled impact absorption and lasting comfort. The Sea Salt textile upper features tonal jagged suede overlays and unfinished edges, completed by a cream Nrgy midsole and grey outsole. This shoe released in August of 2021 and retailed for $150.
