On the other hand, its design is unmistakable; two quarter spheres are movably mounted in a brass ring and can be pushed into any position around two central cylinders. This allows the appearance of the light and its light emission to be changed as desired. The ring also serves as a carrying handle on this model. The brightness of the warm white light can be adjusted in three stages. This light can be used in many ways for additional lighting in living rooms and bedrooms as well as in sheltered outdoor areas and, in addition to its lighting function, also offers great value as a home accessory. Vintage and refined, with its superimposition of simple, architectural forms, Multi-Lite is typical of lighting fixtures from the golden age of Danish design. Multi-Lite is characterized by remarkable functionality. Framed by a Ring, the mobile Lampshade changes shape to create a multitude of different lighting effects. The central part of the Lampshade is fixed: it consists of two interlocking cylinders containing the light source. Around the cylinders, the outer dome consists of two half-spheres that pivot up and down. These two moving parts can be moved independently of each other to create a multitude of configurations. Light can be directed downwards (direct lighting) or upwards (indirect lighting), or a superb asymmetrical lighting effect can be created. GUBI has worked closely with the Weisdorf family to develop a portable version that incorporates all the versatility of Multi-Lite in a more compact form. The signature ring around the Lampshade now acts as a handle. The two small discs on either side of the ring serve as dimmers in this version. With three settings, Multi-Lite's brightness can be altered to suit the mood or needs of the moment. The Mobile Lampshades have been meticulously designed for smooth, one-handed adjustment. Two diffusers in the upper part of the Lamp prevent glare while creating an attractive glow of indirect light. The Multi-Lite portable lamp is designed and certified for outdoor use, preferably in dry weather (splash-proof). The ideal companion for outdoor evenings. The Lamp must be charged and stored indoors when not in use.
