FAQs

Can the GORE-TEX liner be worn on its own?

Yes, the 3L GORE-TEX membrane liner is designed to be detachable and can be worn separately as a waterproof outer shell in light weather.

What safety protection comes standard with the jacket?

The jacket comes with CE-Level 2 SEEFLEX™ RV 10 elbow protectors pre-installed. It is also prepared for SEESOFT™ Level 1 chest protectors and SEESOFT™ Level 2 back protectors, which are sold separately.

How do I clean the jacket to maintain its waterproofing?

Machine wash the outer shell on a cold, gentle cycle with a technical wash. Do not use fabric softener. Reapply a DWR treatment after washing and air dry.

Is this jacket suitable for year-round riding?

Yes, due to its layered system (outer shell, detachable thermal liner, and detachable waterproof GORE-TEX liner) and extensive ventilation, it is designed to be adaptable for various weather conditions throughout the year.

Can I add extra protection to this jacket?

Yes, the jacket is designed to accommodate upgradeable SEESOFT™ CE-level protectors for the chest and back, and has connection points for a neck brace.

What material is the outer shell made of?

The outer shell is made from abrasion-resistant textile, typically a blend of Polyester and Nylon depending on the specific colorway, designed for durability and protection.

Troubleshooting

Water ingress despite GORE-TEX liner

Ensure the GORE-TEX liner is correctly zipped in and fully sealed. Check for damage to the membrane or seams. Reapply DWR treatment to the outer shell.

Overheating during warm weather

Fully open all VCS ventilation panels and zippers. Consider removing the thermal liner and potentially the GORE-TEX liner if conditions are very hot and dry.

Zippers are stiff or difficult to move

Clean zipper teeth with a soft brush and water. Apply a silicone-based lubricant or wax specifically designed for zippers.

Liner is difficult to zip in/out

Ensure the jacket and liner are laid flat and aligned perfectly. Work the zipper slowly. Check for any fabric caught in the zipper track.
