The Turn On table light, designed by Joel Hoff, is beautifully unified and boldly minimalist. Winner of the HAY Talent Award 2014, the table light, is an intuitively well designed lamp that comprises a cylindrical aluminium base and an opal glass shade. Simply turn the base clockwise to illuminate the LED, then rotate further to increase the lights€™s brightness. Effortless and tactile, the Turn On table light is ideal for setting the perfect ambience in modern bedrooms, offices and living spaces. The lamp is made of aluminum and opal glass. With this lamp, the name says it all, because it can be operated intuitively by turning the base of the lamp. The base of the lamp is a faceted cylinder made of anodized aluminum, which acts as a switch and dimmer by turning it. Thus, the light is switched on and also varied in brightness, the further clockwise is turned the brighter the light. The sphere with the integrated LEDs is made of opal glass, through which the light is scattered without glare and very homogeneous in the environment. The designer of this intuitive LED table lamp is Joel Hoff, who graduated from the Royal College of Art in Londen with a Master in Design Products. His goal is to design objects for mass production, but not to fuel mass consumption, but to inspire people to own fewer things of higher quality. Hoff wants to combine durability in both materials and design in his designs. Manufactured by HAY. The base is a faceted cylinder that works as both the light switch and the stem that holds the spherical glass diffuser in place. Turning the base in a clockwise direction clicks the LED light on, with further rotation increasing the lumen output. This movement built into the design, allows the user to intuitively brighten or dim the light.
