Sadolin Superdec Satin in Blueberry is a water-based, highly durable opaque wood finish designed for exterior joinery and cladding. It offers a flexible coating that resists cracking, peeling, and flaking, revitalizing weathered surfaces and adding color to new ones. While it functions as both a primer and undercoat, light tones may require a separate blocking primer to prevent discolouration. This guide helps you understand its application and benefits.

Yes, it is designed for exterior joinery and cladding, including new and previously painted or stained surfaces. However, avoid surfaces treated with wax or silicone.
Sadolin Superdec Satin is self-priming and works as an undercoat. However, for lighter shades or to prevent discolouration from the substrate, using a separate blocking primer is advisable.
Two coats are recommended for optimal durability and a uniform finish. Ensure the first coat is thoroughly dry before applying the second.
You can expect to cover approximately 10-15 square meters per litre, depending on the application thickness and the surface's porosity.
While designed for exterior use, its low VOC and water-based nature mean it can be used indoors if desired, though specialized interior paints might offer different aesthetic or performance characteristics.
Clean your brushes and tools with water immediately after use. Dried product can be difficult to remove.
Apply when the temperature is between 8°C and 25°C. Avoid applying in direct sunlight, when rain is imminent, or if frost is expected.
Ensure the surface was properly prepared and clean before application. Check for application on incompatible surfaces (e.g., waxed wood) or if applied in unsuitable conditions.
Ensure a consistent coat thickness was applied. If covering a drastically different color, a primer or an additional coat may be necessary. Check for adequate stirring of the product.
Apply a suitable blocking primer before Sadolin Superdec, especially on knotty or resinous timber, or if there's a risk of staining from the substrate.
Check application conditions. Extreme cold or high humidity can affect drying times. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not apply if rain is imminent or frost is expected.
Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, and loose paint. For bare wood, apply one coat of Sadolin Superdec. For previously painted or stained surfaces, ensure they are sound. Lightly abrade glossy surfaces. If using a light shade, consider a suitable blocking primer first.
Application: Apply in a full, flowing coat using a brush or roller. Avoid over-thinning. Two coats are recommended for best results. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.
Compatibility: Suitable for new and previously painted or stained wood. Do not apply to surfaces previously treated with wax or silicone.
Care: Clean tools and brushes with water immediately after use. For maintaining the finish, clean surfaces with a mild detergent and water; avoid abrasive cleaners.
