Full details

The Korda Lead Clip Action Pack is designed for carp anglers who prioritize fish safety and presentation when fishing in challenging, snaggy, or weedy environments. By allowing the lead to eject reliably during a fight, it helps prevent snags and keeps the fish in a position where it can be guided over obstacles more easily; however, users should note that the system requires proper assembly of the tail rubber to ensure the lead releases only when intended.

FAQs

How many setups can I make with one pack?

Each pack contains components to create 5 complete lead clip setups.

Does this pack include the lead weights?

No, this pack contains the clips, rubbers, swivels, and tubing. You will need to provide your own lead weights.

Can I use this with any fishing line?

The system is designed for standard carp fishing lines, but always ensure your knot to the swivel is secure.

Why is the rig tubing included?

The tubing helps protect the fish's scales and prevents tangles between your main line and the rig during the cast.

What happens if the lead gets stuck?

The system is designed to allow the lead to pull free from the clip, so you simply lose the lead rather than losing the fish or the entire terminal tackle.

Troubleshooting

Lead ejects too easily during the cast

Ensure the tail rubber is pushed firmly onto the lead clip to increase grip tension.

Lead fails to eject during the fight

Verify that the tail rubber is not pushed on too far and check that there is no debris preventing the lead from sliding off the clip.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Significantly improves fish safety in snaggy water
  • All-in-one pack includes everything needed for a complete setup
  • Helps keep fish near the surface during the fight
  • Compatible with a wide range of lake environments

Cons

  • Requires careful adjustment of the tail rubber tension
  • Requires manual assembly of the rig components
  • Losing the lead requires replacement of the components

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the system, thread your main line through the included 2-meter rig tubing to prevent tangles. Next, slide the tail rubber onto the line, followed by the lead clip. Attach your swivel to the main line, then pull the swivel firmly into the lead clip until it locks in place. Attach the lead onto the clip, and finally, push the tail rubber onto the end of the clip. To maintain the system, check the tail rubber periodically after each capture to ensure it hasn't become loose or damaged. If the rubber feels too slack, it may lead to premature lead ejection.
