- Setup: Shuffle the deck of tunnel cards and place the starting card (the prisoner's cell) in the center of the playing area. Place the ending card (the escape tunnel) face down.

- On your turn, place a tunnel card from your hand adjacent to an existing card, trying to close off tunnels to prevent the prisoner from escaping.
