Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
As this laptop does not come with an operating system pre-installed, you will need to create a bootable USB drive with your preferred OS (e.g., Windows, Linux) and install it by booting from the USB. Ensure you have a valid license key if installing Windows.
Compatibility:
This laptop is designed to be compatible with most modern software and games. It supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for fast wireless networking and Bluetooth 5.2. The USB ports are backward compatible with older USB standards. Ensure any external peripherals you use are compatible with Windows 10/11 or your chosen Linux distribution.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For the keyboard, a can of compressed air can help remove dust and debris.
- Ventilation: Ensure the laptop's vents are not blocked during use to prevent overheating. Avoid placing it on soft surfaces like beds or carpets for extended periods while it's running intensive tasks.
- Battery: To prolong battery life, consider adjusting power settings and avoiding charging to 100% if the laptop is mostly used while plugged in. Lenovo Vantage software may offer battery health management options.
- Storage: When storing the laptop for extended periods, ensure it is powered off and stored in a cool, dry environment, ideally with the battery charged to around 50%.
