While the LD-1000 has roots as a long-distance running shoe from 1977, it has been reimagined as a lifestyle sneaker. It offers everyday comfort and style but is not designed for modern athletic running performance, which requires more advanced cushioning and support.

Due to the mixed materials (textile, leather, suede), spot cleaning is recommended. Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap for textile and leather. For suede, use a specialized suede brush or cleaner. Avoid machine washing or drying, and always air dry away from direct heat.

Generally, Nike LD-1000s are considered to fit true to size. However, fit can vary by individual foot shape. We recommend consulting Nike's official sizing chart or trying them on if possible.

The flared heel is an iconic design element from the original 1977 model, initially added to provide support and stability for long-distance runners. In the reimagined version, it serves as a distinctive aesthetic feature that pays homage to its heritage.

The Nike LD-1000 features a textile and suede upper, which are not inherently waterproof. We do not recommend wearing them in heavy rain or wet conditions, as this can damage the materials and reduce their lifespan.

The LD-1000 offers cushioned comfort through its foam midsole and a degree of stability from its original flared heel design. It provides adequate support for daily walking and casual wear, but not the advanced stability features found in modern performance shoes.

Check if the insole is properly seated. If the squeak persists, try removing the insole and sprinkling a small amount of talcum powder or cornstarch inside the shoe before replacing the insole. This can reduce friction.

For suede, use a specialized suede brush to gently rub off dry dirt, followed by a suede eraser for tougher marks. For leather, wipe gently with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains on either, consult a professional shoe cleaner or use products specifically designed for the material.

Adjust your lacing. For a tighter fit, try lacing through all eyelets and ensure the laces are evenly snug. For a looser feel, loosen the bottom laces or skip the top eyelet. Also, consider the thickness of your socks.

Remove the insoles and allow the shoes to air out in a well-ventilated area. You can also sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes and insoles overnight to absorb odors, then shake it out in the morning. Ensure shoes are completely dry before wearing.
