Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
When you first power on your Lenovo IdeaPad, follow the on-screen prompts to set up Windows. Note that the device comes in 'Windows 11 Home in S mode,' which only allows apps from the Microsoft Store for improved security. You can switch out of S mode in the settings if you need to install desktop applications (.exe files) from other sources.
Compatibility
This laptop uses USB-C ports that support 'Power Delivery' and 'DisplayPort Alternate Mode.' This means you can use compatible USB-C hubs to connect external monitors, additional peripherals, or even charge the laptop using a third-party USB-C charger that meets the power requirements.
Care Instructions
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or a screen-safe cleaner for the display. Avoid spraying liquid directly onto the laptop.
- Environment: Keep the vents on the bottom and side clear of obstructions to ensure proper airflow, as blocking these can cause the device to throttle performance due to heat.
- Battery: Avoid leaving the device plugged into a power source 24/7 if not needed to maintain the longevity of the Lithium Polymer battery.
