Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Adizero EVO SL shoes is straightforward:
- Lacing: Unlace the shoes sufficiently to easily slide your foot in.
- Fit: Ensure your heel is comfortably seated at the back of the shoe. There should be about a thumb's width space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
- Tighten: Start tightening the laces from the toes upwards, ensuring a snug but not overly tight fit across the midfoot. Use the top eyelets for a more secure ankle lock if needed.
- Check: Walk or jog a few steps to confirm the fit feels secure and comfortable without any pinch points.
Compatibility
- Running Type: Best suited for short-to-mid distance running, including 5Ks, 10Ks, and half-marathons, as well as speed work and tempo runs.
- Surface: Optimized for road and track surfaces. The Continental rubber provides excellent grip on both dry and wet pavement.
- Foot Type: Generally suitable for neutral runners. Runners requiring specific motion control may need additional orthotics.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your shoes:
- Cleaning:
- Remove loose dirt with a soft brush (like an old toothbrush).
- Mix a small amount of mild soap (e.g., dish soap) with warm water.
- Dampen a cloth or sponge in the soapy water and gently wipe down the textile and synthetic upper.
- For the outsole, you can use the brush with soapy water to remove mud and debris.
- Wipe away excess soap with a clean, damp cloth.
- Drying:
- Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources (like radiators or dryers), which can damage materials.
- Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage:
- Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Avoid storing them in damp environments, which can lead to odor and material degradation.
- Avoid: Do not machine wash or machine dry these shoes, as it can compromise their structural integrity and cushioning properties.
