Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the laptop and its accessories from the packaging.
- Power Connection: Connect the included 65W USB-C AC adapter to the laptop's USB-C charging port and plug it into a power outlet.
- Initial Boot: Press the power button to turn on the device. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Windows 11 Pro setup, including selecting your region, keyboard layout, and connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
- Account Setup: Sign in with your Microsoft account or create a new one. For business environments, you may join a domain or Azure AD.
- Updates: Once setup is complete, check for and install all available Windows updates and driver updates through Windows Update for optimal performance and security.
Compatibility:
The DELL Precision 3480 supports a wide range of peripherals and accessories through its USB-C (Thunderbolt 4), USB-A, and HDMI ports. It is compatible with most standard USB devices, external monitors, docking stations, and networking equipment. Ensure that any software applications you intend to use are compatible with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit.
Care:
- Cleaning: To clean the exterior and screen, use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or an approved screen cleaner. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the device. Wipe the keyboard gently to remove dust and debris.
- Battery: To maintain battery health, avoid exposing the laptop to extreme temperatures. Consider using the power adapter for extended work sessions. Regularly check battery health settings in Windows.
- Ventilation: Ensure the laptop's air vents are kept clear of obstructions to prevent overheating. Avoid using the laptop on soft surfaces like beds or carpets for extended periods.
- Storage: If storing the laptop for an extended period, ensure it is powered down and stored in a cool, dry place, ideally with the battery charged to around 50-70%.
