Is the 100 Glacier Full-Zip Fleece waterproof or windproof?
No, this fleece is designed for insulation and breathability, not as a waterproof or windproof outer layer. For protection against rain, snow, or strong winds, it should be worn under a waterproof and/or windproof shell jacket.
What is 'microfleece' and how does it differ from other fleeces?
Microfleece is a lighter, finer type of fleece fabric. It's known for its excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, softness, and breathability, making it ideal for layering without adding bulk. It offers good insulation while allowing moisture vapor to escape.
How do I know if my existing jacket is 'zip-in compatible' with this fleece?
Look for a compatible zipper system and snaps at the cuffs and back collar on your outer jacket, typically found on The North Face triclimate or zip-in compatible shells. The fleece has a specific zip-in loop at the back collar and tape & snap on cuffs.

Troubleshooting
Fleece doesn't feel warm enough in cold conditions.
This fleece is designed primarily for layering. In very cold or windy conditions, wear a moisture-wicking base layer underneath and a windproof/waterproof outer shell over it for maximum warmth and protection.
Fabric is pilling or showing small balls of fiber.
Pilling can occur with fleece over time due to friction. To minimize this, wash the fleece inside out on a gentle cycle with similar soft fabrics. Avoid washing with rough materials or items that have zippers/Velcro that can snag the fleece. You can carefully remove existing pills with a fabric shaver.
Zipper is sticking or difficult to pull.
Ensure the zipper is clean and free of debris. Gently apply a small amount of zipper lubricant (available at outdoor stores) or a graphite pencil lead along the teeth to help it glide smoothly. Avoid forcing the zipper.
Garment feels clammy or causes sweating during activity.
