Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your adidas Glider Football comes deflated and requires inflation before use. Always use a ball pump and a proper inflation needle. Moisten the needle before inserting it into the valve to prevent damage. Inflate the ball to the recommended pressure, which is typically printed near the valve. Avoid over-inflating, as this can damage the ball and affect its performance.
Compatibility
This football is versatile and compatible with most common playing surfaces, including natural grass fields and artificial turf pitches. It's designed for recreational use, making it suitable for parks, backyards, and local sports fields.
Care
- Cleaning: After use, especially on muddy or dusty surfaces, wipe the ball clean with a damp cloth. For tougher dirt, use a mild soap solution, then wipe it clean with a fresh damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the ball's casing.
- Storage: Store your football in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Proper storage helps maintain the bladder's integrity and prevents material degradation.
- Inflation: Check the ball's pressure periodically. If it feels soft, re-inflate it to the recommended PSI. Over time, all footballs slowly lose air, even with a butyl bladder. Always moisten the inflation needle before use.
- Valve Maintenance: Keep the valve free from dirt and debris. If the valve seems to be leaking air, it might be damaged or dirty. If the issue persists, professional repair or replacement might be needed.
