Cromar Roofing Felt Adhesive is a solvent-based, cold-applied bituminous adhesive designed for bonding successive layers of roofing felt to various surfaces. It provides weatherproof protection and is suitable for exterior use. This adhesive is effective for bonding roofing felts to metal, timber, concrete, and asphalt, as well as for lap cementing and bonding chippings to flat roofs. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil, dirt, dust, and loose debris before application. For best results, store the adhesive in a warm room overnight before use, especially in cold weather. Apply using a stiff brush, mop, or squeegee, allowing it to tack up for 15-30 minutes before applying the felt. Rub or roll the felt into the adhesive to ensure maximum contact and expel trapped air. For timber structures, the first layer of felt should be nailed down, with subsequent layers bonded using this adhesive. Overlaps should be at least 75mm on the side and 150mm at the ends, with adhesive applied to the underside of the felt for a complete bond. Coverage is approximately 1-1.5m² per litre.
