Eryngium giganteum 'Miss Willmott's Ghost', commonly known as Sea Holly, is a striking biennial or short-lived perennial plant. It thrives in well-drained soils and is perfect for gravel gardens or creating dramatic contrasts among swaying grasses. The plant features architectural flower-cones surrounded by spiky, ornate bracts and pale silver-green stems that rise above heart-shaped foliage. It has a tendency to self-seed, creating beautiful drifts over time, making it ideal for cottage gardens, wildlife gardens, cut flower arrangements, and coastal settings. The tall stems attract pollinating insects like bees and butterflies to their nectar-rich blooms and are also excellent for dried flower arrangements. This variety is part of the Kew Pollinators range, developed in collaboration with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to specifically attract and support a diverse array of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, beetles, and moths. These seeds come in distinctive packaging inspired by Kew's archive artwork, helping to create habitats that pollinators need to flourish. The plant typically reaches a height of up to 100cm and a spread of up to 30cm when fully established. It flowers from June to August. Supplied as one seed packet containing approximately 30 seeds, with growing and care instructions included.
