The Areca Palm is the perfect palm plant for adding bright, green leafy foliage to any areas of the home. The centre on the plant is made up of tall, upright canes which resemble bamboo more than they do most other palms. This is where the plant gains its other name – the Bamboo Palm. From these central canes grows beautifully bright green foliage, with slender leaves arching from the centre. Place your Areca Palm in bright, indirect light where it will grow best. Keep the soil moist at all times, but never waterlogged, by allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. This palm is a humidity lover, but it can be placed in any room of the house as long as it is misted regularly, approximately three times per week. Very popular for indoor spaces, the areca lutescens palm is an attractive plant with tall, arching fronds akin to feathers which grow heavily.
