Unwins Dwarf French Bean Quartz Seeds are well-suited to growing in Britain and Ireland, displaying good heat tolerance for sunny spots and greenhouses. Sow outdoors from April to June for a harvest from July to September. Sow indoors individually in pots or modules, 5 cm deep, in a warm environment (min 12°C). Acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out in May to June, 15-20 cm apart in full sun with added organic matter, keeping soil moist. For containers, use pots at least 30 cm in diameter. Successive sowings provide a longer harvest period. Support plants with thin sticks and pick pods regularly when about 10 cm long. Dwarf beans freeze well after blanching.
