The Pentax WG-1000 16MP 4x Zoom Tough Compact Camera is an entry-class, waterproof digital compact camera, designed for casual underwater photography to a depth of 15 metres, for up to one hour of continuous operation. An all-weather outdoor camera with superb waterproof performance, it offers advantages that smartphones and many cameras do not. It can be used in conditions where it gets really rough and wet, making it ideal for sports like canoeing or climbing. The camera features a reliable all-weather housing that is waterproof (JIS Class 8) to a depth of 15 metres and dustproof (JIS Class 6) against dirt and stains. It is also shockproof, surviving falls from up to two metres. Thanks to this robust construction, the WG-1000 can be used for a wide range of activities, even in harsh, demanding conditions, and for underwater shooting. The WG-1000 features a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with approximately 16.35 effective megapixels and outstanding light reception efficiency to deliver sharp, clear, high-resolution images. It also boasts a four-times optical zoom lens with a focal-length coverage from 4.9 mm to 19.6mm (equivalent to approx. 27mm to 108mm in the 35mm format), which can be extended by approximately 24 times with its Digital Zoom function.
