Forstner bits are used for drilling in woodworking in preference to drill bits and flat bits when a clean and precise hole is required. Ideal for when a specific depth of mortise is required. The design of the bit results in minimal tear out, for a much neater cut than a spade bit or hole saw. Bore very precise flat bottom holes in wood. Manufactured from heat treated steel for strength and durability. Can cut on the edge to a block of wood and can also cut overlapping holes. The bit has a centre point which gives a centre point start and guides it during the cut, allowing for accurate results each time. Features a 3/8" shank that fits almost most lathes / presses and drills (whether cordless / electric or air). Allows holes to be drilled without passing through the material when a clean and precise bottom to a hole is required. Can also be used with a drill press to cut angled holes. This listing is for a 22mm forstner bit.
