Barrettine Teak Oil is a professional-grade treatment formulated for individuals looking to restore and protect untreated or hardwood surfaces. Its primary benefit is the deep penetration into wood fibers, which creates a natural, water-resistant barrier against rot and decay. While highly effective at reviving tired garden furniture, users should note that it requires significant patience during the drying process, as each coat needs 12-24 hours to cure properly.

Yes, Barrettine Teak Oil is perfectly safe and effective for indoor hardwood furniture, provided the wood is untreated.
We recommend applying 2-3 thin coats for the best protection and finish.
While designed for hardwood, it can be used on many types of wood, but always test on a small, inconspicuous area first.
You must wait between 12 and 24 hours between each application.
The oil provides natural water resistance and nourishment, but for extreme UV exposure, you should keep up with regular maintenance coats.
One litre covers approximately 8-10 square metres.
The wood may already be sealed with varnish or paint. Teak oil only works on raw, untreated surfaces; you must sand the existing finish off first.
You likely applied the oil too thickly. Wipe away any excess oil with a clean cloth and allow more time for the remaining residue to cure.
Before you begin, ensure your wooden surface is entirely clean, dry, and free from any previous lacquers, varnishes, or waxes, as these will block the oil from penetrating the wood. If the wood is dirty, scrub it gently and allow it to dry completely.
Application Steps:
For ongoing care, keep an eye on your outdoor pieces during changing seasons. If the water stops beading on the surface, it is time to clean the wood and apply a fresh maintenance coat.
