It's an impressive plant on its own, featuring heart-shaped foliage with red tips and clusters of small white flowers in the summer. The sweet, egg-shaped fruit are ready for harvesting in August and September, offering a delicious taste of homegrown produce. For optimal growth, plant in a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil, ensuring a sheltered spot as kiwis are sensitive to adverse weather. Before planting, enrich the soil with well-rotted manure or garden compost. Water the plant generously after planting and provide support for its twining stems, such as wires strung between sturdy posts for an espalier effect. Regular watering and feeding are crucial, especially during hot, dry spells. In autumn, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost around the base. Prune in winter. The plant reaches up to 6 metres in height and 4 metres in spread when fully established and is supplied in a 9cm nursery pot. Please note that images are for guidance only and results may vary based on growing conditions and seasonal changes.
