FAQs

What type of fuel should I use?

You can use standard charcoal briquettes (8-10 recommended), lumpwood charcoal (approx. 300g), or a Cobb CobbleStone for convenience. Always use the fuel in the Fire Basket.

How long does the cooking heat last?

Depending on the fuel used, the Cobb Pro BBQ can provide cooking heat for up to 3 hours on a single load.

Can I use this indoors?

No, the Cobb Pro BBQ is designed for outdoor use only due to the nature of the fuel and heat generation.

How many people can it cater for?

The Cobb Pro BBQ is suitable for cooking for up to 4 people at a time.

Is it easy to transport?

Yes, it comes with a carry bag and its compact, lightweight design makes it very portable for various outdoor activities.

How do I clean the grill grid?

The Teflon-coated Grill Grid is non-stick and largely dishwasher safe. For general cleaning, a damp cloth after cooling is usually sufficient.

What is the moat for?

The Stainless Steel Moat is designed to catch excess fat and juices from the cooking food, preventing flare-ups and keeping the cooking area cleaner. It can also be used to cook vegetables or keep food warm.

Troubleshooting

Unit not heating up sufficiently

Ensure you are using the recommended amount of fuel and that it has been allowed to fully ignite and turn white-hot. Check that the Fire Basket is clean and free of ash.

Excessive smoke

Minimize the use of lighter fluid. Ensure the Grill Grid is clean and draining excess fat into the moat. If using charcoal, ensure it's fully lit before adding food.

Food sticking to the grill

Ensure the Teflon non-stick surface is clean. Lightly oil the grill grid before cooking, especially for delicate foods.

Base feels too hot

The base is designed to stay cool-touch, but extreme heat or prolonged use on uneven surfaces might cause some warmth. Ensure it's on a stable, level surface and check for any obstructions around the base.
