Troubleshooting

Uneven finish or brush marks visible

Ensure the paint is thoroughly stirred. Use a good quality synthetic brush designed for water-based paints. Apply paint evenly and avoid overworking it. Ensure the surface is smooth and properly prepared.

Paint not adhering well

Verify that the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or flaking paint. Ensure appropriate primers have been used, especially on new or previously treated surfaces.

Slow drying time

Drying times are affected by temperature and humidity. Ensure application is in a well-ventilated area and within the recommended temperature range. Avoid application in very humid or cold conditions.

Colour does not match expectation

Tinted colours are mixed to order. For best results, ensure the correct colour base and tinting formula were used. As tinted products cannot be returned, always test a small area if unsure.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, and dry. New surfaces, in particular, must be fully dry. For existing painted surfaces, ensure they are free from contaminants. If painting over old lead paints, consult relevant health and safety information. For best adhesion and finish, it is recommended to use a coat of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat, especially when making a strong colour change or coating factory-primed surfaces.

Application: Stir thoroughly before use. Apply by good quality synthetic (nylon polyester) brush, roller, or spray. Thinning is generally not necessary; however, if required, add up to 1 part clean water to 20 parts paint.

Coats: Two full coats are typically recommended for optimal coverage and durability.

Drying & Recoating: Allow a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 6 hours between coats, dependent on ambient temperature and humidity.

Tool Cleaning: After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes, rollers, and spray equipment before cleaning thoroughly with water.

Storage: Do not use or store in extreme temperatures, and protect from frost. Ensure containers are tightly sealed when not in use.

Compatibility: Suitable for use on MDF, metal, and wood. Not suitable for outdoor use.
