Dermol Wash is an antimicrobial emollient and moisturiser designed for the management of dry and itchy skin conditions, particularly eczema and dermatitis, that are at risk of infection. It can also be used as a soap substitute to prevent skin dryness during washing. This gentle formulation contains antimicrobials to reduce inflammation and remove skin toxins that can cause itchiness, while added emollients restore the skin's moisture balance by rehydrating. Suitable for both children and adults, it is for external use only and recommended for everyday hand washing. To use, unlock the pump dispenser by turning the top anti-clockwise and prime the pump by pressing down several times. Wash with Dermol Wash like any liquid soap, using a gentle action; it will not foam or lather. After rinsing, you should still feel a coating on the skin. Pat skin dry with a soft towel, avoiding rubbing. Dermol Wash can also be applied as a leave-on treatment after washing and drying, by smoothing it into dry skin areas and allowing it to soak in. Avoid vigorous rubbing. If applying other products to the same skin areas, apply treatments alternately, allowing time for each to soak in. For healthcare professionals, Dermol Wash can be used for intensive hand washing following standard techniques, then applied as a leave-on skin conditioner. If you forget a dose, simply continue as normal the next time you wash. If the product gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water, taking care to avoid washing into the other eye. Seek medical advice if irritation persists. Do not use if you are allergic to isopropyl myristate, liquid paraffin, benzalkonium chloride, chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, or any other ingredient. Severe allergic reactions are possible, and rare reports of such reactions associated with chlorhexidine in susceptible individuals have led to drops in blood pressure and unconsciousness. Do not smoke or go near naked flames as the product is a fire hazard; clothing and bedding in contact with the product burn more easily. Washing may reduce but not remove product build-up. Be careful if using in the bath or shower as the surface may become slippery; use a mat and clean the bath/shower tray afterwards. Consider wearing protective gloves. For very sensitive skin, test on a small area first, especially on the face or young children. This product is not known to interact with other medicines. The product is a white, non-greasy emulsion lotion with no dye or fragrance.
