Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens', also known as Honeywort, is a hardy annual plant known for its unique charm. It features rounded, blue-green leaves on slender, upright stems. From late spring, it produces nodding, rich purple flowers surrounded by blue-purple bracts, creating a captivating display. This variety attracts pollinating insects, including bees. It grows up to 60cm tall with a 45cm spread, making it suitable for sunny borders, cottage gardens, and wildlife gardens. It also works well in annual beds or as a filler for herbaceous borders and thrives in well-drained soil.
