Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure both vehicles are turned off and parked safely, with the parking brake engaged.
  2. Connect the red (+) clamp of the battery cable to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery.
  3. Connect the other red (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the donor battery.
  4. Connect the black (-) clamp of the battery cable to the negative (-) terminal of the donor battery.
  5. Connect the final black (-) clamp to a bare metal grounding point on the engine block or chassis of the vehicle with the dead battery, away from the battery itself.
  6. Start the engine of the donor vehicle and let it run for a few minutes.
  7. Attempt to start the vehicle with the dead battery.
  8. Once the vehicle starts, carefully remove the cables in the reverse order: black from ground, black from donor battery, red from donor battery, red from dead battery.
