Full details

Unwins Eccremocarpus Chilean Glory Vine Seeds produce a colourful climbing plant with eye catching red, orange and yellow tubular flowers. With a long flowering period, this is a useful climber for covering fences or bare patches on other plants. Unwins Eccremocarpus Chilean Glory Vine is usually grown as an annual in the UK but it may survive (and even retain its leaves) in mild winters. Self-twining climber. Can be trained over an obelisk or pergola. Sow: February to April. Flowering: June to September. Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost and sow seeds thinly over the surface, but do not cover them with compost. Place the tray in a warm position at 10–15 °C and keep the compost moist. As seedlings emerge, cover them lightly with a trace of compost to provide anchorage. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade them from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant individually into 8 cm pots filled with potting compost. Gradually accustom plants to outdoor conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when the danger of frost has passed. Allow 60–90 cm between plants. Darkness and temperatures above 18 °C will inhibit germination. The vines will support themselves with their tendrils as they climb.
