The Braeburn apple tree is a popular and easy-to-grow variety, renowned for producing abundant crops of bi-coloured, smooth-skinned, crisp, and juicy fruits. These apples are ready for harvest in October and can be stored for up to four months. This dwarf variety, on an M9 rootstock, reaches a mature height of up to 2.5m (8'). It thrives in any well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered location. For optimal growth, incorporate well-rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and stake the tree securely after planting. Keep the base of the tree clear of weeds and grass within a 30cm radius. Applying a mulch of compost in spring will help retain soil moisture. Feed and water the tree during dry spells.
