The ATEN CS1308 KVM switch allows access and control of up to 64 computers from a single console (keyboard, mouse, and monitor). It supports both USB and PS/2 connections for the console and computers, and can be cascaded up to 2 levels to control a total of 64 computers. Features include Dual Interface support for PS/2 or USB keyboards and mice, Multiplatform support for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Sun, and ATEN's exclusive Video DynaSync™ technology to optimize resolution. The switch also boasts USB keyboard support for PC, Mac, and Sun, auto PS/2 and USB interface detection, and computer boot functionality even when the console focus is elsewhere. It offers superior video quality up to 2048 x 1536 (DDC2B) and allows computer selection via front panel pushbuttons, hotkeys, and an on-screen display (OSD) menu. Security is provided through a two-level password system, supporting up to four users and an administrator with individual profiles. An Auto Scan feature is available for monitoring selected computers. The switch is hot-pluggable, allowing computers to be added or removed without powering down. Buzzer on/off functionality is accessible via hotkey and OSD, and firmware is upgradeable. No software installation is required. It is designed for desktop or rack mounting (19" system rack, 1U). The cascade function is only compatible with USB KVM cable set connections.
