Unwins Courgette One Ball F1 Seeds produce round, yellow fruits with excellent flavour. With a striking vivid yellow, round shape, Unwins Courgette One Ball F1 have a slightly sweet flavour and are quick to cook. F1 Hybrid variety. Good source of vitamin C and antioxidant. Sow: Apr to Jun. Harvest: Jun to Oct. Sowing Indoors: Sow seeds individually on edge in small pots of firm, moist seed compost, 2 cm deep. Place in warmth (15–18 °C) and keep moist. As seedlings develop, grow on under cool, bright conditions, avoiding direct sunlight. Planting Out: Gradually acclimatize young plants to outdoor conditions over 2–3 weeks before planting in their cropping positions, after risk of frost has passed. Water generously and feed regularly with a tomato fertiliser once fruits begin to swell. Sowing Outdoors: Water sowing positions, then sow 2–3 seeds close together in a group 2 cm deep, 90 cm apart. After germination, thin to leave only the strongest seedling per group. Water generously and apply tomato feed regularly. Caution: Extremely rarely, courgettes may produce very bitter fruit that can cause stomach upset. Test by tasting the cut surface of one fruit per plant; do not eat bitter fruits. Advice: Courgette flowers are edible, either cooked or raw in salads. Regular harvesting encourages continued production of fruits.
