Cordyline australis Lime Passion is an attractive garden plant with a highly architectural form. Elongated lanceolate leaves grow up and out from a single trunk, creating a fan of foliage. The leaves themselves are a cheerful shade of lime green variegated with cream. Large clusters of tiny white scented flowers may appear on mature plants in July and August. Also known as Cabbage Palm, Cordylines do well in pots and containers, making them an ideal choice for patios and other paved areas. They also grow nicely alongside other plants in garden borders and flower beds. These striking plants are easy to care for and relatively undemanding. They like a south or west facing spot that is quite sheltered from strong winds. Once mature, Cordylines are fairly drought tolerant and can largely be left to their own devices.
