The Catnic CX90 100 Extra-Heavy Duty Catnic Lintel is designed for cavity walls and features a built-in damp-proof course (DPC). It boasts a duplex anti-corrosion finish, being galvanised and powder coated for lifetime resistance in harsh environments, including coastal and marine conditions. For optimal results, ensure the blockwork fits snugly within the web of the steel cavity lintel and allow the supporting blockwork to properly cure before proceeding. This premium steel lintel offers continuous insulation to reduce cold bridging and can contribute to Part L compliance. Its design often negates the need for a separate DPC, as the lintel's shape directs moisture out of the cavity. A drip on the leading edge helps shed water that may penetrate the window head brickwork. The Catnic CX90/100 is suitable for structural openings from 750mm up to 4500mm and can support loads from concrete floors, roof loads, timber floors, and attic trusses. It is designed to span cavities from 90mm to 105mm, requiring a minimum bearing of 150mm at each end. Specific load capacities vary by length; for instance, lengths from 900mm to 2700mm can handle a 60kN load, while a 4.8m version supports 32kN. It features a built-in plaster key with staggered slots on the inner flange and a ribbed underside of insulation. The lintel is formed from galvanised steel then powder coated for ease of use. Standard lengths are available in increments of 150mm up to 3000mm and 300mm for lengths between 3000mm and 3600mm. This lintel is BBA approved under Agrément Certificate No. 91/2638 and complies with BS EN 10088-2-1.4301.
