The suction strainer with foot valve is connected to a suction hose and immersed in the water source. The device acts as a filter, preventing large dirt particles from being drawn in, and is equipped with a foot valve. The spring-loaded foot valve stops the drawn-in water from running back into the water source. This means that the valve is pulled open when water is drawn in, and closed again by the spring when no water is being drawn in. Mounting The suction strainer with foot valve has a 1" screw connection with a female (internal) thread. If you cannot connect it directly to the hose, a hose socket can be mounted onto the suction strainer. The hose socket will slide smoothly into the hose and can be secured with a hose clamp. Other solutions Our universal hoses and our 4m and 7m standard hoses are pre-fitted with a suction strainer and foot valve. The separate model is meant mainly for creating a longer suction hose or for replacing an existing suction strainer with foot valve.
