Once established, it will produce good yields of rounded, bite-sized carrots, ideal for salads, lunchboxes, and stews. This compact variety is perfect for growing in patio containers, window boxes, and raised beds. Early maturing varieties can be sown under cloches in March or outdoors from April to July. Maincrop varieties should be sown outdoors from April to June. Forcing varieties can be sown under glass from November to February. Direct sow carrot seeds outdoors in a weed-free, sunny position in fertile, light, well-drained soil. Avoid freshly manured soils; prepare seed beds in autumn. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm (½in) in drills 30cm (12") apart. Germination takes 10 to 20 days. Thin seedlings to 5cm (2") apart when large enough to handle. Growing carrots in containers is also a viable option. Product Specifications: Supplied as 1 x seed packet (containing 500 seeds). Position: Full sun.
