Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in warmth at 10–15°C and keep moist. Note that germination may take up to 8 weeks.Growing OnKeep seedlings in a light position but shaded from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant individually into 8cm pots of potting compost.AftercareGradually accustom plants to outside conditions over 2–3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 60cm between plants. Rosemary thrives in dry, sunny, sheltered positions on well-drained soil.AdviceHarvest regularly to encourage plenty of new growth. Avoid cutting into old woody growth, as rosemary does not regrow from it. Can be used fresh or dried.
